Φέτος, το HILLS OF ROCK 2025 θα πάρει φωτιά με τους Gojira να ξεκινάνε στις 25 Ιουλίου, φέρνοντας το χαρακτηριστικό μείγμα progressive and socially conscious metal, μόλις ένα χρόνο μετά την ιστορική εμφάνιση στην τελετή έναρξης των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων του Παρισιού.
Το επόμενο βράδυ, 26 Ιουλίου, θα πραγματοποιηθεί μια ειδική αποχαιρετιστήρια περιοδεία από τους Sepultura, γιορτάζοντας τα 40 χρόνια βραζιλιάνικου metal με την περιοδεία Celebrating Life Through Death. Η τελευταία πράξη που θα ολοκληρώσει το φεστιβάλ είναι οι θρυλικοί The Smashing Pumpkins, πρωτοπόροι της εναλλακτικής ροκ γνωστοί για τους ύμνους τους όπως το 1979 και το Bullet with Butterfly Wings.
Στο θεαματικό ρόστερ προστίθενται οι Machine Head, ένα από τα πιο σημαντικά groove και thrash metal συγκροτήματα των τελευταίων τριών δεκαετιών. Με επικεφαλής τον Robb Flynn, το συγκρότημα έχει χτίσει τη φήμη για δυνατές ζωντανές εμφανίσεις και ανθεμικά κομμάτια όπως τα Davidian, Imperium και Locust.
Σε έκταση σχεδόν 62.000 τετραγωνικών μέτρων, το Hills of Rock θα σας προσφέρει δεκάδες γωνιές φαγητού, παγωμένη μπύρα και τόσα πολλά μέρη για να χαλαρώσετε - φυσικά, αν έχετε χρόνο για αυτό. Taking place at Europe’s oldest city – Plovdiv, HILLS OF ROCK is Bulgaria’s largest rock & metal festival. Three days, three stages, with names such as Gojira and Sepultura, the festival will be expecting you for its sixth edition on July 25, 26 & 27 2025 at Plovdiv’s Rowing Canal.
Just 100 kilometers from Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, you’ll have the chance to experience a lineup that truly stands out. This year, HILLS OF ROCK 2025 will be on fire with Gojira kicking things off on July 25, bringing their signature blend of progressive and socially conscious metal just a year after making history at the Paris Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. The next night, July 26, will feature a special farewell tour performance from Sepultura, celebrating 40 years of Brazilian metal with their Celebrating Life Through Death tour. The final act that will conclude the festival is the legendary The Smashing Pumpkins, alternative rock pioneers known for their anthems like 1979 and Bullet with Butterfly Wings.
Addind to the spectacular roster is Machine Head, one of the most influential groove and thrash metal bands of the last three decades. Led by Robb Flynn, the band has built a reputation for powerful live performances and anthemic tracks like Davidian, Imperium, and Locust.
And that’s just the beginning. Other rock and metal heavyweights on the lineup include:
- Skunk Anansie - British powerhouse led by the iconic Skin
- Extreme – legendary funk-metal icons from Boston, bringing their classic hits and latest album Six
- Static-X – pioneers of industrial metal, making their Bulgarian debut

- Wolfmother – Grammy-winning hard rockers, famous for Joker and the Thief
- Rise of the Northstar – blending hardcore and Japanese pop culture in an explosive mix
- Landmvrks – France’s modern metalcore phenomenon
- As Everything Unfolds – one of the fastest-rising post-hardcore acts
- Vukovi – Scottish alternative pop-punk with an electrifying stage presence
Situated at almost 62 000 square meters, Hills of Rock will provide you with dozens of food corners, ice-cold beer and so many places to just chill – of course, if you have time for that. The two other stages – Stroeja & Na Tamno will make sure you don’t really want that break. As tradition dictates, they will be bringing a diverse selection of local favorites and exciting international artists. Stroeja’s stage welcomes back the New York-based industrial metal powerhouse Dope, a fan favorite. Na Tamno expands its lineup with twelve new names, including the genre-blending Dub Pistols, known for their explosive mix of reggae, breakbeat, and jungle. The French indie rockers Reaven bring their dreamy melodies, while Smallman, a cult favorite in Bulgaria, will deliver their signature atmospheric metal sound. The legendary Wickeda return with their energetic ska-punk vibes, alongside rising rock artists like Frankie and Arika Adams, whose soft rock style offers a fresh contrast to the heavier acts. North Macedonia’s Lost in Reverie, the blues-infused Taraleshta, and the alternative rock energy of KSHMR from Varna add to the variety. The theatrical funk and psychedelic elements of The Lefties, thrash metal intensity from Axez, and the dynamic funk-rock trio GREESH ensure that the Na Tamno and Stroeja stages will be an unmissable part of the festival experience.
