David Ellefson talks to Rock Overdose after the Megadeth concert in Athens

A few hours after the Megadeth concert in Athens in June 20, Rock Overdose, had the chance to talk with David Ellefson (bass).

Below you can also watch a behind-the-scenes video during his visit in Athens with concert footage as well.

Rockoverdose.gr: Hi David, how are you?

Ellefson: I’m doing great. Just finished our trip to Greece and now moving on to Switzerland

Rockoverdose.gr: Great show in Athens, wasn’t it?

Ellefson: Yes, it was fantastic! Greece has some of the most rabid fans in the world. Plus, the culture is so deep and intriguing. Always so good to play there.

Rockoverdose.gr: Would you like to tell us your experience of this live show in Athens?

Ellefson: It was fun to play at that venue. It was like a small arena but had the feeling of a large club. The fans were right up close to us and the energy was spectacular. Plus, we played “High Speed Dirt” for the first time in almost 20 years!

Rockoverdose.gr: Κάποια Any special funny moment from your visit in Greece?

Ellefson: I had a great time shooting my videos for the fans because I have friends in Greece who could take me out and do special and interesting things. Seeing the bay, driving in residential city streets were all cool things to do because it’s good to get off campus from just being in hotels and concert halls all the time.

Rockoverdose.gr: Which is your message to the Greek fans?

Ellefson: Thank you for a fantastic trip to your country this year. The sign from your airport (Elefsina – Athina) is such a great welcome for me because it reminds me of my daughter Athena Ellefson. Greece is like a “home away from home” for me. Thank you!!
