Get ready to bleed for joy!

RockOverdose: Ηello Devon and welcome to Rock Overdose , how do you feel about your return to Greece after so many years?

DEVON GRAVES: I’m really looking forward to it! I’m actually packing and on my way out the door. My flight is tomorrow but I took a hotel right at the airport to make sure everything goes smoothly. This time around I will get to see many places I’ve never been. Crete, Cyprus and more. I have really been looking forward to this.

RockOverdose: On this tour you are gonna perform for the first time The Bleeding in an acoustic form , tell us some things about that.

DEVON GRAVES: Some songs have been completely re-structured to fit a more singer, songwriter, acoustic format. They give the songs a very different feel and emotion but deliver the exact same vocal melodies. Some songs, like “Drift” and “My Grave” have the chord changes already built in, so those and a few others will be played more “literally”.

RockOverdose: Except from the Bleeding album , what else we should expect from those live shows?

DEVON GRAVES: I will play something from every PW album except Mosquito. I don’t have anything prepared for that one. I’ll also play lots of Deadsoul Tribe.  Maybe a cover or two…

RockOverdose: Unfortunately we couldn't see you with Psychotic Waltz last year , what happened and when are we gonna have the chance to see the band?

DEVON GRAVES: I still get asked this a lot, and I thought the word was already out on that. But in short, Brian has stepped down from all future touring because his health would be in danger to continue. Since we choose not to replace him in any way, it looks like we won’t ever tour together again. It breaks my heart every day.

RockOverdose: Which are your memories , when you were recording The Bleeding album?

DEVON GRAVES: That was a really tough time because we already knew Brians departure was on the horizon for the very same reason. Plus Scott Burns was there at first and he added massive layers of stress and conflict. Once he stepped out things went a lot smoother. We ended up producing that one ourselves and I was in a much better place doing so. I remember singing that album without headphones. It was a technique I learned in recording to mitigate pitch problems I was having using headphones (too loud). We just put some studio monitors in the vocal booth. Put them in mono and out of phase so the sound cancelled at the mic. It worked really well. Recently I learned that is how Peter Gabriel records all of his singing.

RockOverdose: What the future holds for Devon Graves?

DEVON GRAVES: I don’t know, but my plans are to make a new Deadsoul Tribe album.
Maybe also “The Strange Mind of Devon Graves”.

RockOverdose: Thank you very much Devon for your time,Last words are yours...

DEVON GRAVES: You are very welcome. Thanks for taking your time to chat with me
about this. I hope to meet everyone wo comes to the shows. I will be taking time to do that, so don’t be afraid to introduce yourself. That is for you and everyone. See you then!
