MESHUGGAH interview on Rockoverdose.gr

Rock Overdose and Vivi Jd coducted an interview with the quitarist of the extreme metallers Meshuggah, Mårten Hagström, who talks about their upcomming nea ablum "Koloss", wich is going to be released on March 26...

Rockoverdose: Hello there and welcome to Rockoverdose.gr. How are you?

Marten: I'm fine thanks.

Rockoverdose: How do you feel about the new album "Koloss"? Tell us some things about this new job. Is the result what you expected?

Marten:  It feels great. It became something we feel really good about. Its a more groovy and organic even maybe more atmospheric album than our previous releases.

Rockoverdose:  Who is responsible for the music and the lyrics part of this album and what is the main inspiration of the lyrics?

Marten: Me,Jens,Fredrik and Tomas all wrote stuff for this one to a varying degree. Tomas and me wrote the lyrics. The lyrics dont have a specific source of inspiration its just life in general.

Rockoverdose: What are the differences between the new album with the previous in your opinion?

Marten: Well like I said I think we brought in more depth and organic feel to our sound aswell as adding some more dynamics and atmospheric stuff.
It feels like a more "complete" album than before, for lack of a better word.

Rockoverdose: Many live shows lately. Tell us about your next visit and where was your best and your worst live ever and why!

Marten: I dont have a best or worst liveshow. At least there are way too many good ones to pick from to be able to name one. But one of our worst was probably the first show opening up for System of a down before the Ozzfest in 2002. I think it was in Pennsylvania somewhere. We hadn't rehearsed as a band for in over a years time and we'd just finished "Nothing"
and didn't sllep properly for a month and then got really drunk on the plane over to the US. When we walked on stage we were not even sure exactly what songs we were playing.
It was a nightmare.

Rockoverdose: Tell us about Greece. What do you think generally?

Marten: Well I've only been to Greece twice. Its a really nice country with alot of history. I'd like to spend more time there in order to really have a general opinion. But I love your Gyros he,he.

Rockoverdose: What else we have to expect from you in the future?

Marten: A lot of touring the next few years. Its too early to tell what our next project will be. And when. But We have a video for the new album coming out early March and then the release on the 23:rd.

Rockoverdose: What's your favorite song from the new album?

Marten: Its hard to pick one actually. Maybe "Do not look down!"

Rockoverdose: If you could change one thing in the world what would be this?

Marten: Tough question. I would eradicate greed. That would fix alot.

Rockoverdose:  Thanx a lot for this interview, any last words?

Marten: Thanks. Just make sure you come check us out the next time we hit Greece
