One of the best days of the tour is here. Paris, the city of light. Not today though. Septicflesh are here to spread the darkness of their music once more. In a full packed and sold out venue, one of the greatest gigs of our time is about to be experienced. Even from when Carach Angren were playing, Divan Du Monde was completely filled with people, making it hard for me to even reach backstage from the console. The moment the band set foot on stage, insanity took over. The band is moved by this and they give their best up there. Ntinos’ neck is working overtimes, Christos is whipping the reporters at the first row with his dreads and Seth is spitting his throat and lungs out, passing from one vocal pitch to another in no time. As for Fotis, he quickly gets rid of the new drum heads that with a lot of sweat, we were able to change and tune a day before. Withing a delirium, the smallest Wall of Death ever done was made, as the people was so much that there wasn’t any space for them to split. The band takes a photo to remember this night on the stage, with the crowd in the background, just before “Five Pointed Star” ends. We take some time to catch our breath and talk with some good friends after many years and we pack for the next stop, Rennes.
Renne welcomes us with clouds and rain. Soon though, the show will pay us back for this bad welcome. An amphitheatric venue with stairs, makes us wonder for people’s safety. People that was waiting this gig in anxiety, as the last time here was only for a 30 minute gig at the Amon Amarth tour. Also, at that tour, the doors have opened sooner that scheduled, so most of the people wasn’t able to see Septicflesh’s gig. The venue was full long before the show and everything is a sign for a nice gig tonight and indeed, as long as “Vampire From Nazareth” started, the people went crazy. The stairs that we were so worried about, were perfect for crowdsurfing. In every song, there was one or two fans that were climbing all the way up and dive all the way down. When the band returned for the encore, Seth didn’t forget to thank the people for a wonderful evening and also wished happy birthday to a man that has supported Septicflesh all these years and have made every show in France and unforgettable experience. Fred the promoter. With the crowd singing “happy birthday” to Fred, the band went on and finished this great evening with another 2 songs.
