On July 23, 2026, just one day before the official start of HILLS OF ROCK 2026, the stage at the Rowing Canal in Plovdiv will open with a brand-new standalone concert day — BE4 HILLS (Before Hills).

Four new bands join the Fest Team lineup for summer 2026 — the Swedish metal powerhouse Sabaton, the legendary Savatage, the Dutch symphonic band Epica, and the Bulgarian group Sevi will take the stage in Plovdiv on July 23 as part of the special BE4 HILLS event.

This new, full-fledged day featuring four concerts is both an independent event and an opportunity for an extended festival experience — perfect for fans who can’t wait to kick off the HILLS OF ROCK week early and turn the festival into a four-day celebration instead of three.

The Swedish band Sabaton will once again headline the stage in Plovdiv, following their appearance at HILLS OF ROCK exactly four years ago (on July 23, 2022). The group, known for their relentless live energy, recently returned with a new album titled “Legends”, released just a few weeks ago, featuring a brand-new stage concept and their signature strong bond with the Bulgarian audience. Sabaton’s performances always evoke a powerful emotional response in Bulgaria — especially with songs like “The Valley of Death,” inspired by Bulgarian history. Their participation in BE4 HILLS is part of their European tour dates for 2026.

Formed in Florida in the 1980s, Savatage are one of the pioneering bands that helped shape power and progressive metal worldwide.
