Peter “Peavy” Wagner (RAGE) on RockOverdose: “We want to play live as much as possible!”

Due to the release of their new album "Resurrection Day", RockOverdose and Zisis Petkanas had the chance to chat with Peter Wagner aka Peavy, leader of German metalers, RAGE!

RockOverdose: Hello Peavy and welcome to RockOverdose! How are you these days?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: "Kalispera filoi mou"! I'm good, doing a lot of interviews and preparing for live shows, as we had a long long break so we are burning to play live again! We were used to play live all the time, and such a long break wasn't good!

RockOverdose: I suppose you did a lot of things you didn't had the time before!

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: Of course, cleaning up the house, some gardening but it was boring after some time... So I started writing some new songs and finally we got out new album!

RockOverdose: Right! Let's talk about your new album "Resurrection Day", what about its concept!

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: The album was released in September, the songs and lyrics are somehow a philosophical view on human evolution from the stone age till now, describing all the reasons for the major problems happen to the world right now.

RockOverdose: What about its musical direction?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: Well, my plan was to bring back all the sound direction we had throught the years, it has thrash elements as well as epic ones, melodies as well as great choruses, so all our sound developement throughout the years is included in our new album.

RockOverdose: The album title is "Ressurection Day", is a ressurection for the band itself as well?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: Well, this might be to much to say! The band has now two quitar players, Stefan Weber and Jean Bormann, it's a four-piece band as it was back in the nineties.

RockOverdose: How's the feedback from the crowds?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: Their response is great! They like us a lot!

RockOverdose: You had always greek presence at the band, how come?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: It's just a coincidence,  it was never planed. I had greek friends at school, and Chris Efthimiadis was one of them and I also had a greek girlfriend back in the '90s. Of course I love Greece!

RockOverdose: Do you have any song from the new album that you like more than the others or means something special to you?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: I like the whole album! Maybe the song "Traveling Through Time" , cause its base is classical theme from the Renaissance age which is a bit unusual for us, it has a special feeling.

RockOverdose: What are your future plans with the band?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner:  To play live as much as possible! We have planned a tour and hope to get through!

RockOverdose: Are there plans to come in Greece?

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: Yes of course!  I had a lot of memories from Greece! I used to live in Athens back in the '90s , I have only good memories from our shows Greece !

RockOverdose: Please send a message to your fans here in Greece!

Peter "Peavy" Wagner: Thank you for your support and we really hope to see you soon all there!

RockOverdose: Thank you very much!
